Weekly Update 10/6

Happy October!  We have a lot going on right now!

  • Family Math Night is tomorrow.  Join us in Mrs. Lynch's classroom to learn ways to help your child be successful in Math.  We will start promptly at 6:00pm.  A FREE pizza dinner will be served to all those that attend!
  • Students will take their Chapter 2 Math test on Tuesday!  The Chapter 2 Pretest that can be found in Think Central is a great way to help your child practice and prepare.  They will see similar questions tomorrow!
  • Our Social Studies newspapers have arrived!  Today your child received their first Florida Studies Weekly.  Students will work at home, and have short times in class to work on the assignment.  Extra newspapers are not available, so it is important that your child take care of their copy!  All work is due on Friday.  The quiz will be passed out on Wednesdays.  Here's a suggested guideline to break up the work.
    • Monday: read the newspaper and complete the crossword puzzle
    • Tuesday: answer the first half of the Think and Review Questions
    • Wednesday: answer the second half of the Think and Review Questions
    • Thursday: take home quiz (these questions are often identical to the Think and Review Questions, students can use these and the newspaper to answer the quiz questions)
    • Friday: turn in all completed assignments
  • We have planned two field trips for November.  Please remember that students must have satisfactory behavior and work/study skills to attend.
  • Fall Dance tickets are $6.00 and are on sale now.
  • There's a Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A on N. Monroe from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, October 8th.
  • The WATCH DOGS will be meeting on October 13th in the Media Center at 7:45am.  Breakfast will be served.  I encourage all dads, uncles, older brothers, etc to attend!
  • The 1st nine weeks grading period ends on October 17th.
  • There is a Teacher Planning Day on October 20th.
